Nexsun Ethanol, LLC

The detail information of the current projects are clearly presented in the Confidential Information Memorandum. Please contact us to inquire about the availability of this project.

Nexsun Ethanol, LLC ("Nexsun") was organized and registered in Kansas for the purpose of constructing and operating a 45 million gallon per year ("MMGY") ethanol bio-refinery business in Grant County, KS ("Bio-refinery"). The Bio-refinery will produce and sell fuel grade ethanol, wet distillers grains ("WDG") and carbon dioxide from local grain feedstocks.

Location

The site for Nexsun is in Ulysses which is in southwest Kansas. It is strategically located with access to large quantities of feedstock and to several large ethanol markets.

In April 2009 Nexsun entered into an agreement with Grant County Economic Development Co. (ˇ°GCEDCˇ±) to acquire 94 acres of land just outside the City of Ulysses for construction of the Bio-refinery. Site highlights include:

KDHE Construction Air Permit - An air permit was issued by the State of Kansas on October 19, 2007 and reissued on June 29, 2009.

Rail - The Cimarron Valley Railroad runs adjacent to the site.

Highway - Highway 160, a two-lane local highway sufficient to handle in-bound and out-bound truck traffic runs adjacent to the site.

Feedstock Availability - Sorghum (milo) is abundant in Kansas as it is the largest producer in the US (2007).

Job Creation

Nexsun will employ about 54 workers each and this direct employment will be enhanced by the permanent new jobs created in the Regional community. Benefits and taxes are estimated at 35 percent of wages, bringing total compensation to $2.8 million. The plant will support the creation of 952 additional (indirect) jobs in all sectors of the Kansas Biofuel Regional Center for a total employment impact of 1,006 jobs in the region.

The estimate of indirect jobs was determined by applying final demand multipliers for supplying industries to regional expenditures by Nexsun Ethanol for the output of these industries. The multipliers used in this analysis are the detailed industry RIMS II multipliers for the 21 Counties encompassing the Kansas Regional Biofuel Center prepared by the Regional Economic Analysis Division, Bureau of Economic Analysis, U.S. Department of Commerce
